The New Philharmonia holds auditions annually in the late spring and early fall for openings in all sections. In addition, string auditions are conducted in December and February for interested players. Audition requirements include two solo movements of the applicant’s choice, one slow and one fast, as well as a variety of orchestral sight-reading at the discretion of the conductor. There is no advance list of required excerpts.
