Description
The repertory is very varied, ranging from early music to twentieth century music, and the choir has a very special commitment to commissioning new works. Over thirty pieces have been written specially for the choir by composers such as Diana Burrell, Simon Bainbridge, Howard Skempton, Judith Bingham, Philip Cashian, Patrick Nunn and others.
The choir performs regularly with all the major London orchestras, national opera companies and at the Proms. It has a large discography and has made several film soundtracks as well as broadcasting for Classic FM, BBC Radio, and on TV. Recent foreign tours have included performances at the Lincoln Center, New York and at festivals in France, Belgium and Switzerland. A concert in Assisi, Italy is booked for later this year.
