ALL FOALS BORN IN OR AFTER 2004 MUST BE REGISTERED BY THEIR BREEDER BY THE 31st DECEMBER IN THE YEAR OF THEIR BIRTH OR BEFORE THEY LEAVE THEIR DAMS, WHICHEVER IS THE SOONER
A pony is eligible for registration in the new Forest Pony Stud Book if its sire and dam are registered in the Stud Book, provided that in all cases the pony is neither piebald, skewbald or blue eyed cream (for the purposes of registration a pony shall not have white markings behind the head, above the point of the hock straight across to inside of hock, parallel to the ground. Each case to be decided on its own merit. All ponies must be open to inspection and DNA testing. Where inspection is not possible photographs must be provided showing front, back and both sides of pony. Dark-eyed palominos with white manes and tails, cream (very light chestnuts) are now only eligible as mares or geldings as Approved New Forest Ponies, colts will be entered in the X Section. Ponies must not exceed 148 cms in height.
