Nevada Humanities is one of 56 state humanities councils that receive an annual operating grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Between 1972, when it was created, and the late 1980s, our organizations mandated focus was almost exclusively on regranting the federal funds to non-profit organizations in Nevada for projects that increased public understanding and appreciation of the humanities.
