Description
Mentor Graphics, a leading provider of software for automating the design of electronics, sought to reduce the number of support phone calls and promote adoption of their products through their online technical support site, SupportNet. EDGE created a new site architecture and navigation based on web analytics and customer and staff interviews, redesigned the visual look and user task path, and then created HTML templates and complex Javascript functionality to support this large, enterprise-level site. EDGE continues to work closely with the Mentor web development team to assure that all benchmarks are achieved throughout the ongoing template rollout.
For Rural Cellular Corporation, a prominent Midwest cell phone retailer, it was time to overhaul their legacy online consumer sales and order fulfillment system—Unicel.com. Using representative layouts provided by RCC, EDGE defined the site architecture and workflow, and then created public-facing components using HTML and CSS2. EDGE web developers used Ruby on Rails, Perl, and PostgreSQL to code the back end, providing RCC with custom administration of all front-end content, pricing, promotional packages, transaction verification, and order processing. The site launched successfully in January of 2006, and EDGE continues to implement new post-launch modules.
Following up on the highly successful sales and marketing kit EDGE produced for HP's line of Home Cinema projectors last year, the Digital Entertainment Group requested a similar kit focused on their new line of high definition televisions. EDGE produced a behind-the-scenes video exploring the engineering inside these TVs, as well as a promotional poster, marketing and sales collateral system, and technical reviewer's guide. The new TVs garnered rave reviews at the 2005 CES Show and in the October 2005 edition of Sound and Vision magazine, and HP Shopping online reported record sales during the holiday season.
