The Neosho Daily News is in its 101st year of providing information to its readers in Newton and McDonald counties. Located in the county seat of Newton County, the Daily News is a six-day-a-week newspaper, delivered in the evenings Monday through Friday and on Sunday mornings. The Neosho Daily News was awarded the Missouri Press Association's General Excellence award for daily a newspaper in the Class 1 division for 2004-05 — the highest award for newspaper of its size. The Neosho Daily News is owned and operated by Liberty Group Publishing.
At the June 6 Neosho City Council meeting, a recommendation to contract with one trash hurler for residential refuse collection was presented. Neosho is one of the few communities in the area that allows residents to privately contract with individual hurlers. What do you think the city should do? Are you in favor of a one hauler system, or does the old saying apply, "if it's not broke, don't fix it." Let your voice be heard!
On Friday through Saturday morning, June 9-10, hundreds will gather to take part in the Neosho Relay for Life. Use this space to share a story about how cancer has affected your life, and what good programs like Relay for Life do for cancer research and the community.
