- As a young child I received a stenciling kit as a Christmas present. I was fascinated that designs could be created by working with a template, which allowed only certain areas of the background to be painted. That fascination remained with me. I began making floorcloths for my own home after becoming mom to two children (now teenagers) and two dogs. Traditonal rugs could not hold up to the traffic and spills associated with a busy household, and I could not find sturdy rugs that also looked pretty enough for use in the living spaces of my home. I have always played with paints and fabric through watercolor classes in college, and also sewing for myself and my home. The combination of both of these art forms, the durability offered by the traditional "oil cloth" floorcloth, and the ability to customize rugs with my color schemes and patterns fit my needs. Hopefully you will allow me to use my skills to help you create the beautiful family- and pet-friendly home we all deserve.
