Description
We provide critical counseling and support for parents of newly diagnosed infants with Down syndrome as well as advocacy, referral and information services. In addition, NADS sponsors conferences and educational programs for parents and professionals, and conducts in-services for medical personnel and educators.
Through a partnership with the Adult Down Syndrome Center (which it helped found) NADS delivers health, psychosocial services and therapeutic programs to teens and adults with Down syndrome. NADS keeps its members and friends abreast of important information pertaining to Down syndrome through its bimonthly newsletter and web site.
Goals
To promote an environment which fosters the growth and development of people with Down syndrome to enable them to achieve their full potential
