About Treasured Heirlooms
My adventure in creating custom children’s clothing began about eight years ago when my son was born. The beautiful baby blankets I crocheted for him gained attention among friends, neighbors and casual acquaintances. I received requests nearly everywhere I went and turned a life-long passion into a thriving small business.
Inspired by my local success, I entered the Los Angeles County Fair in 1997 with several of my crochet designs and won “Best of Show” blue ribbon in crochet category.
My success at the fair parlayed into an opportunity teaching crochet at a popular local craft store. Unfortunately, we were relocated to another area and I had to find other work. Wanting to stay home with my children, I began selling on eBay, but I mostly offered my children’s outgrown clothing and garage sale items. Gradually I discovered eBay’s custom boutique children’s clothing community and realized there was an opportunity to sell my own designs online. After a year of successful designing and selling on eBay, meeting wonderful peers and gaining new customers, I created the “My Treasured Heirlooms” website to expand my clothing collection.
