When first discovered it was explained by some to be rays of the sun, captured by the ocean waves and congealed in the cold of the water. This captivating gemstone has been harvested, traded and crafted into beautiful jewelry and art by a variety of civilizations, thus catalyzing the opening of communications between cultures, the construction of trade routes through Eastern Europe and the growth of economies and international trade.
I find amber to be a thing of beauty and intrigue. It is a window to the past, it connects us with a time of 40+ millions of years ago when the earth was a very different place. With each piece of amber jewelry we travel back in time to the ancient pine forest where amber first began to take shape.
