Description
Ranching at our present location near Elmdale, Kansas for over 50 years, Mushrush Red Angus began breeding and offering Registered Red Angus cattle private treaty in the mid 80's. Our commercial cows were of Hereford, Angus and Simmental. Our first Red Angus bull brought a consistency to them in color and quality.
Today with both a fall and spring herd, we are able to offer a good selection of ages. In 1999 we had our first production sale jointly with Beckton Red Angus, Sheridan Wyoming, a founding Red Angus herd. Offering genetics from two programs has been an overwhelming success. The annual auction is the 4th Thursday of each March on the ranch in our sale facility which is located near Elmdale Kansas. We offer yearling, 18 month fall born, and 2 year old bulls. 18 month bred heifers and open yearling heifers are also sold.
Without a live calf we have nothing and Mushrush Red Angus has always expected our Registered cows to bring in a calf under commercial conditions. In fact, we calve the cows in large pastures with little or no difficulty. In addition to calving ease we always keep an eye on the end product.
