The purpose of MTA is for the members to have state-of-the-art, reliable and affordable communications, superior customer service, a voice in governance, capital credit allocations/distributions, and support for local, community, and economic development.
MTA was formed in 1953 to serve residents in the Palmer area, and now extends across Alaska's fast-growing rail belt region from Eagle River to Anderson and from Skwentna to Glacier View, nearly 10,000 square miles.
The MTA headquarters is located in Palmer and our stores are in Eagle River, Palmer, and Wasilla. Central switching offices are in Big Lake, Eagle River, Healy, Talkeetna, Tyonek, and Wasilla, Alaska.
