MotherHemp Ltd was a leading supplier of organic hempseed, hempseed foods and hempseed oil to the UK and Europe. This company was taken over by the Springdale Group in 2004, which eventually ran it into the ground by the end of 2006. After becoming insolvent, Springdale Group went "into administration" (an euphemism for bankruptcy in the UK), while leaving many creditors to twist in the wind. This had a devastating effect on the emerging hemp foods industry in the UK, which is only now beginning to recover. The company cultivated the unique "Finola" hempseed variety, developed in Finland by Dr. JC Callaway, who was also left twisting in the wind by this incredibly selfish and irresponsible bunch cretins. Motherhemp still has a website, but it is just an empty shell, nothing more.
