Moore Place Day Care started to operate in 1985 under the name Cedarvale Child Home Care. By that time, its founder Lucy Quaglia worked with five children in her own family home on Terry Court in Georgetown.
In the late 80's the current building on Main Street North was acquired, renovated and adapted for day care operation.
Moore Place Day Nursery was inaugurated during the Week of the Child in October 1989 as an organization with five staff members working with 16 preschool children. In July 1990 it became a non-for profit organization under the name Moore Place Day Care.
