- ML Investment was founded in 2008 and the portfolio was setup as a limited partnership where ML investment is the general partner and the investors are the limited partners. As seed capital the founders' own savings were used to start-up the portfolio 7 July 2008. Year-to-date until the end of August the performance already beats the market with a performance of nearly 13%. The portfolio will be managed by me, Michael Thomas MBA (1979), the founder. I have extended years of experience in the field of investments as an investment analyst at companies like ING and Robeco, and in my education. At these large institutions I have been largely responsible for performance measurement of different investments and investment decision making. My experience at larger investment management companies and banks taught me that large banks do not listen to the demand of individual investors and do not give them enough insight and participation in the investment decisions of a fund. Also costs are often hidden and not communicated properly to the mutual funds' shareholders. Especially, transaction costs are usually high and hidden, which limits your return. ML Investment was launched with the idea of involving investors as much as possible in the strategy and investment decision making process and be as open as transparent as possible with a fair fee structure, while profiting from specific investment knowledge.
