- O ne quiet evening in late 2003, my husband Jim and I conversed about making some changes in our lives. We talked about what kind of business would make us smile more than we had been doing. It didn’t take me long to suggest opening a bead business. I have been a beader for over 10 years and had always needed to shop out of town for the Japanese seed beads I LOVE to use in my bead work, because though there was one bead shop in town, they did not carry any Japanese seed bead lines. I explained to Jim there is a demand for those special beads in our area. Jim granted my wish to open a bead shop, and I granted his wish to also incorporate a stone and lapidary section into the shop. Alas…
