As talk continues to escalate about the potential dangers and pitfalls of “exotic loans” or nontraditional loan products, rising interest rates, and the financial impacts of a suspected housing bubble, Mortgage Based Financial Planning™ also prepares you to be a beacon amidst the confusion. MIFSP offers the only educational program that helps you further differentiate yourself by using your abilities as RMP® or CME designee to act in the capacity of a Mortgagor Financial Representative™ (MFR). By written agreement, during the MFR ™ engagement you have a fiduciary (exclusive) responsibility solely to the mortgagor (the person who mortgages the property) that puts you in a one of its kind position. MIFSP helps you bring to the mortgage transaction what consumers have been missing at the closing table, an independent voice, their own financial representative.
The provision of our services is in the capacity of a fee-based financial planner specializing in a proprietary brand of mortgage planning, Mortgage Based Financial Planning. Being that there are no state or federal licensing requirements for financial planning, your services as a MFR ™ are not limited to any one state. For example, if you offered MFR ™ services via the Internet, you could provide these services to anyone anywhere in the country. When you are providing the fee-based services of Mortgage Based Financial Planning, you are not acting in the capacity of a mortgage broker or loan originator. However, you are obligated to use your knowledge, experience, training and skills in those areas for the best interest of the client. Graduates of our programs are authorized to be compensated for financial planning services actually performed and in an amount that bears a reasonable relationship to the value of the services performed.
