Michael R. Kasony-O'Malley is a full-time professional storyteller based in Columbus, Ohio. He is a member of the National Storytelling Association, the National Storytelling Network, the Ohio Order for the Preservation of Storytelling, Storytellers of Central Ohio, and the Greater Columbus Arts Council's Artists-in-Schools Program.

In his years on the planet, Michael has taught grades 1st through 4th in the Columbus Public Schools, worked full-time in a homeless shelter in Ireland, attended a peace conference in the (former) Soviet Union, received an M.S. degree in Elementary Education, worked for environmental groups in Massachusetts and Ohio, worked on an archeological dig in (the former) Czechoslovakia, visited Native American Indian reservations in over ten states, graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. degree, worked for a peace organization in Sweden, taught daycare, talked with insects, told tales to tens of thousands, and trained a dog to sneeze on command. (If you don't believe some of this stuff, just ask him.... he'd love to tell you THE STORIES!)

Michael tailors his storytelling performances to the age ranges of his audiences and, within each of his four focus areas, he offers programs especially for children, for teens & young adults, for families, and for adult audiences. In addition, Michael offers a number of storytelling workshops including classroom workshops for students (K - 12), professional development workshops for teachers, and storytelling workshops for parents, grandparents, fellow storytellers, and other adults interested in the storytelling craft. Michael also offers special one-week and two-week storytelling residencies for schools.
