For 18 years, we have had the opportunity to have so many incredible experiences living in Mexico's wonderful Riviera Maya. The east coast of Yucatan, which is the Mexican Caribbean (now called the Riviera Maya), has been visited year after year by more and more people, who come to discover all the beautiful places that the Riviera Maya offers.

Jorge Gonzalez, originally from Mexico City, came to Cancun in 1983. At the time, there were only a few hotels on the now huge Cancun Hotel Zone – can you imagine?! Sibylle Gonzalez is originally from Switzerland. She moved to Mexico in 1993, where she get married with Jorge and they started a life together in Akumal! Now they are a happy family with two hijos, Esteban and Sarita.

Since then we have been living in Akumal, which is located in the heart of the Riviera Maya. Jorge has been a Dive Instructor since he arrived in Cancun and Sibylle has been working in the tourism business. Jorge Gonzalez played a major role as the DIVEACE in the new IMAX movie Journey Into Amazing Caves, which was filmed here in the beautiful cenotes of Yucatan in 1999.
