Guilty of search-engine spamming, cloaking of subscription content
MetaPress evidently thinks so highly of its journals, and so contemptuously of the Internet-using public, that it is willing to stoop to the lowly tactic of Google spamming in order to promote its subscription-only content. MetaPress provides full-text access to the Googlebot and perhaps other search engine crawlers, but when search-engine users "click through" the links in search results, MetaPress provides them only with a page where they can pay for access. This blatant cloaking is appalling and, regardless of the value of the journal papers, MetaPress is flying the black flag.
