center city commission staff The Center City Commission has a professional staff of 20 full-time employees in five different departments: Executive, Development, Marketing, Operations, and Finance. The Blue Suede Brigade is also a part of the CCC staff.
The Planning & Development Department plans and facilitates the redevelopment & economic growth of Downtown Memphis. This department conducts neighborhood revitalization planning and administers financial incentives to improve our built environment, actively recruits new businesses, facilitates development, provides design review, and supports development projects though site identification and land acquisition.
The Marketing Department is responsible for promoting Center City Commission services, as well as the benefits of living, working, and playing in Downtown Memphis. Functions include market research, advertising, public relations, special events, and production of internal and external communication materials. The department also includes the information services division, including networking and Internet services and in-house software applications.
