Description
J-Bar Farm and Kennel is located on 50 acres of fertile Willamette Loam in the northern part of Oregon. Our pastures are lush sub-irrigated fawn fescue. We are located 20 miles southeast of Portland, Oregon. Recently we have dedicated ourselves to introducing quality McCurdy Plantation Horses to the Northwest.
On the farm we produce our own clean weedless fawn fescue hay and are concerned with good horse nutrition and early resistance free training. We are seasoned field trialers and judges of upland bird dogs in the Northwest. We have traveled across the country with this sport. Because of this, we thoroughly understand why the traits of the McCurdy's are so important. The breed has been used for field trialing and pleasure riding in the South and carefully bred by the McCurdy family and neighbors in Central Alabama for about a century. Only in the past decade has the Breed been introduced west of the Mississippi.
