Maui-Licious® Marinade BBQ sauce is a tangy sauce that Dr. Charles Medeiros developed in the early 1950's during college days in the San Francisco Bay Area as a result of being home-sick for the Hawaiian Islands and the yearning for its unique foods and food flavors that he was missing. Island foods, restaurants, etc. were unavailable at that time not only in the San Francisco Bay area, but almost everywhere. As a result, he had to "concoct" the flavors and recipes to satisfy his palate.
