in a family of 3 sisters and 1 brother. Because of my love of cats my parents bought our first pet cat Thomas. And boy was he ever the “Tom” of the neighborhood. I never understood what Toms purpose was in life when I was young. If I could go back in time with the knowledge I know now, I would have saved thousands of lives. I don't even think neutering cats was an option at that time. But I would do what I could to stop the unwanted kitten births that took place because my family chose to let my male cat outside.
I have always wanted to do my part in the animal community here in the Midwest. I fostered dogs through the Midwestern ASPCA for a little while. But I felt that there were fanatical people in that association so I now just donate money. I still contribute to Second chance adoption and the Humane Society to help out where I can. There was still something missing, some void that I need to fill.
I was talking to my husband about fostering mother cats and their babies. When my husband Glenn asked me If I would like to show and breed Burmese. Wow did that shock me! Not only did Glenn give me permission to breed in our house, he actually might like it! So we researched together and found the European Burmese! Why we chose the European Burmese over the American was first, the colors. European Burmese have wonderful colors of cream, reds, chocolate, brown, lilac and blue. Chocolate, brown, lilac, and Blue can also be torties.
