- Coming from a family that was involved in motorsports in one way or another is common too many people. Mine is no exception! While there are no racing legends or familiar icons to tell stories about in my family, there are however many racing legends and icons who I have come to know over the years that have greatly influenced my philosophy about many things.Creating a lasting and longing desire to reach a higher level of self satisfaction and achievement . Having been involved since an early adult in the motorsports industry, my career as an automotive machinist began with one of the South's premier and most highly respected race shops of its time. I surely have been at the leading edge of its game. Having its roots in NHRA drag racing, it quickly spread its talents into all forms of racing, including Winston Cup. Having been influenced by many well known engine builders in those arenas, we easily became a leader for all others to follow in motorsports. Being able to have many "trade secrets" reveiled to them by their Winston Cup buddies helped them to have an "edge" over their competition. As time and experience was gained, my own desire to race and help others also grew into many early and successful endeavors. Witnessing how our racing technology evolved year after year was truly awe inspiring. The changes in technology, even after just a few months is really amazing! To stay on top definately requires burning the midnight oil. One day,a light went off that said, why not take all these "trade secrets" you have learned over the last 15 yrs., and apply them to many of our vintage engines of years past and see what happens! Already having an interest in street rods and older stuff, it was easy to step out and do so. My goal became to apply 21st century technology to as many of our vintage engines as possible. The hard work had already been done by our automotive forefathers, they just needed a little tweaking!
