Description
I have been an "artist" since birth. It came natural to me. I am fortunate to be able to express myself with color and form. I am entirely self-taught (for good or bad). When I was about 20 a friend challenged me to airbrush his Harley chopper. Well, I said, "I've never used an airbrush before". He shrugged off my apprehension and bought me a cheap airbrush (a Binks single action I believe it was) and some paints. I gave it my best shot and to my amazement it turned out great. I was hooked.
I've been airbrushing ever since. I found that using the airbrush was not an easy task to master. For about the first six months there were times I wanted to throw it against the wall in disgust and anger. But as I began to use it more and more it got easier, although not without certain frustrations that can even invade my work today. I don't think anyone really masters the airbrush. I think you learn about it every time you use it. I found it to be a sensitive and demanding tool yet yielding so much power, grace and effects. I painted for many years as a hobby or part time work.
