When you first visit Cairo, everywhere you look immediately makes you conscious that you are in a medieval city. Contrasting and strong images are a Middle Eastern feature that all who have been lucky enough to visit here will recognise. The brown minarets and apartment buildings among the modern hotels, the people in western clothes mixing with the conservative "galabiyyas" of the traditional folk, and the ancient Pyramids on the edge of one of the world’s largest cities are examples.

Everything is old in Egypt – really OLD, like about 13th century BC. Our Egyptologist who guides us around Egypt will bring all this history alive for you, as you visit the Egyptian Museum in Cairo (home of the treasures of Tutankhamun and the Mummy Room), the temples of Karnak and the Valley of the Kings in Luxor, sail in a felucca on the Nile at Aswan, and marvel at Ramsis Temple at Abu Simbel.
