Title

Lynton & Barnstaple Railway

Description

It is the intention of the railway company to open the railway to Killington Lane for the summer 2006 season. This will take the existing running line on over the recently completed bridge 67 for just over a further half a mile.

The new extended railway will take the operations of the Lynton & Barnstaple on to a new level. Upon opening, we will cease to operate the push-pull style trains and instead start hauling all trains with loco at the head.

Killington Lane will also see the opening of a new (temporary) halt. It will be possible for passengers to alight at Killington Lane, and watch as the loco reverses around the train for the return journey. From the halt it would also be possible for passengers to alight and take a walk to Parracombe, Hunters Inn or Heddons Mouth.
