Girl Scout Council of Licking Valley, Inc. Home Page
Description
The Girl Scout Council of Licking Valley, Inc. was established in 1951 by the Girl Scouts of the United States of America by combining three small councils in the area. Our office was then located in Newport, Kentucky.
Today, we serve more than 5,100 girls and 1,300 adults in Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Fleming, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Mason, Owen, Pendleton and Robertson Counties in Kentucky.
In 1958, the council acquired Campbell Mountain Girl Scout Camp located near Hillsboro, Kentucky, through a gift by the Campbell family in memory of their parents, James and Addie Jane. The land was officially accepted in the fall of 1956 to be the site of our Girl Scout Camp. After deciding on the area to be developed, a legal right of way was given by Mr. Pete McNeill to enter the property.
