- What a stellar season we have ahead of us! This year will see the selection of a new music director for the Philharmonic. Three guest conductors—David Commanday, David Itkin and Peter Rubardt—will conduct the Philharmonic in the first three masterworks concerts of the season. As you will see from the variety and scope of their programs, you and I are in for a real treat, with works that will delight and challenge. For me, it will be a thrill to sit with you in the concert hall and hear the orchestra that has won accolades and praise from critics and audiences alike since its founding in 1998. It will also, of course, be a great privilege for me to conduct my final programs as music director in April and May of 2007.
