Luminex® (NASDAQ: LMNX) develops, manufactures and markets innovative biological testing technologies with applications throughout the life-sciences industry. The company’s open-architecture xMAP® technology enables large numbers of biological tests (bioassays) to be conducted and analyzed quickly, cost-effectively and accurately.
Systems using xMAP technology (formerly known as LabMAP®) perform discrete bioassays on the surface of color-coded beads known as microspheres, which are then read in a compact analyzer. Using lasers and high-speed digital-signal processors, the analyzer simultaneously identifies the bioassay and measures the results, all in real time.
