Veli Losinj is a small seaside situated in the south of the island of Lošinj in the bay of Kvarner. At the entrance to the harbour stands the baroque church of St. Anthony the Hermit from the 17th century, wich was built on the remains of a smaller church grom the 15th century. The harbour is also dominated by the Tower, dating grom the 15th century. It was built to shelter the townfrom pirate raids. The beatiful old stone houses, surrounded by parks and exotic vegetation, speak of the town's rich seafaring tradition.
