- Lokelani (Loke for short, and pronounced “Low-Kay”) was born and raised in, of all places, not sunny Hawaii as you might expect, but in cold and sometimes very snowy, Buffalo, New York. As she grew up however, Lokelani was interested in many forms of dance and was encouraged by her parents to study dance. So Loke studied Tap, Jazz, Middle Eastern and Hawaiian and Tahitian Dancing.
