Lakewood Croquet Club :: North America's Premiere Extreme Croquet Club :: Mallets Plus Morons Equals Mayhem.™

Description

The Lakewood Croquet Club (LCC) is the premiere extreme croquet organization in North America. Since 1993, the Seattle-based LCC has been promoting the sports' top events across the United States. Their flagship tournament, the Champions Cup, has been played annually since 1996 and has been staged in such major metropolitan areas as Philadelphia, San Francisco and Seattle. The Champions Cup is held each summer to crown the LCC Champion. Beginning in 1998, the club added the Gary Coleman Memorial Team Challenge to its event calendar. The Coleman Challenge was the first extreme croquet doubles championship and remains one of the most anticipated events each year. Beginning in 2000, membership expansion led to the introduction of a third annual event, the Pennsylvania Open, held each August in the Philadelphia suburb of Bucks County, PA.

Always living up to their infamous battle cry, "Mallets Plus Morons Equals Mayhem," the Lakewood Croquet Club combines the intense athleticism of backyard croquet, the challenging terrain of many a gopher-holed field, the alcohol consumption of an army of men and a healthy portion of mallet hurling into one of the most intense athletic endeavors available today.

The Lakewood Croquet Club launched it's award-winning website in 1997 and has been featured in a variety of publications, including Men's Health, Yahoo! Internet Life magazine, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the (Tacoma) Morning News Tribune, the Philadelphia Inquirer, Wave Magazine, Salon.com and others.
