The Livermore-Amador Genealogical Society was formed in June 1977 by students of a Livermore Adult Education Class. On June 27, 1977 the charter members met to adopt by-laws and the organization was founded.
Our membership has a combined experience of many hundreds of years in the field of genealogy. All of us want to share our experience with you, and in turn to learn from your experience. Through cooperation, the efforts of each individual are multiplied many fold.
All members are provided with a handbook that will help them get the most from their Society. It includes many "How-to" sheets of information for those just getting started. It also describes the many archives, libraries and resource centers in the Bay Area. In addition, the handbook contains information on the meetings of the various sub-groups of our club.
