- A chance meeting one day at the Green River Ferry led to the friendship of two kayakers. These kindred spirits decided to partner up in the sport of kayaking because of safety first, adventure second. They each learned that both of them would kayak in just about any body of water large enough to put a boat in and thus began the beginning of KY River Runners. On many of their paddles, they would invite family and friends to accompany them so they could also enjoy the beautiful scenery and sport that each of them love. This led to the idea that others would love to try kayaking with the benefit of experienced paddlers to teach them safely and securely.
