- The North Texas Affiliate (formerly the Collin County Affiliate)of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation was founded in 1991. With the support of our signature fundraiser, the Komen North Texas Race for the Cure® (formerly the Plano Race for the Cure®), Komen North Texas this year will raise nearly half a million dollars toward the fight against breast cancer by funding grassroots education, screening and treatment programs as well as national research.
