Welcome to Knitknack

Description

Ricki Darbee and Beth Marx are the new owners of Knitknack. They are first cousins but grew up more like sisters in Cleveland, Ohio in a close “knit” family. Over the years the families migrated westward and Ricki and Beth settled in southern California where they both have lived for over 30 years now.

Although Ricki and Beth learned to knit when they were kids, it wasn’t until they saw an eyelash scarf in a boutique in Martha’s Vineyard that their love affair with knitting began in earnest. Ricki immediately found a knitting store on the Vineyard and was amazed at the new novelty yarns that had come into existence since the last time she had knitted. She completed two scarves before returning home from vacation and hasn’t put down her needles since. She has found knitting to be a wonderfully relaxing hobby and a way to relieve the daily stress as a busy executive. Since Beth was already busy designing and creating beaded and fabric accessories, she asked her mom to knit her the eyelash scarf. Being a perfectionist knitter, Beth’s mom wasn’t comfortable with the inexactness of the eyelash yarn and gave the materials back to Beth. Beth completed the scarf and has now added knitting to her creative endeavors. She especially loves combining textures, colors and various fibers into one of a kind felted purses, pouches and hats embellished with the likes of beads, hand dyed and vintage fabrics, and kumihimo braiding.

Ricki’s quest for beautiful tools for the exquisite yarns lead her to Knitknack and the rest is history. We hope that you will enjoy our inventory of distinctive knitting needles and crochet hooks, unique cases and bags, and other cool accessories as much as we do. Thank you for taking the time to visit us at Knitknack.com and look forward to meeting you at future shows and events.
