- C.A.T.S. maintains a full adoption shelter. As a full adoption shelter, we accept only adoptable animals: those to whom we can make a life-long commitment for placement. Adoptable means there are no signs of a behavioral or temperamental defect that could pose a health or safety risk, and no visible signs of disease or injury. Prior to acceptance, our staff evaluates each cat / kitten to ensure that it meets these criteria. Once the cat is accepted, a commitment is made to keep the animal until it is placed into a new home, as long as the animal remains adoptable.
