- The last time I was in court I was sitting next to a kid that was 17 at the oldest. I listened to him and his lawyer talk about the options he had. He could take the plea the DA was offering: 1 year state time. Or go in front of the Judge and see what he wants to do with him. His lawyer kept talking him into taking the plea, and this kid didn’t want to, but his lawyer kept telling him to. I looked over and said, “Don’t take it”. He listened to me and went home that day with another year of probation added to what he already had.
