Description
Prince Edward Island or PEI is Canada's smallest province having a population in the winter of around 140,000 people swelling with visitors during the summer to around 1 million. The major industries in PEI include agriculture, fishing, and tourism but also include a growing technology & aerospace sector as well as some unique industries such as wind power generation. The island features a combination of the old island businesses as well as most of the major consumer shopping and food service businesses that are to be found in Canadian and US cities. PEI, with its pastural landscapes is the perfect place to golf. There are an impressive array of courses to choose from as well as a golf academy. PEI is home to the Atlantic Culinary Institute and as such we have the first taste of all the new chefs. PEI has an eclectic selection of restaurants.
Kildare Capes is located between the towns of Alberton and Tignish. Alberton is primarily a fishing and farming community and is located approx. 66 km from Summerside and 93 km from Charlottetown. Alberton's history dates back to the 1780's when the area was first settled, however the town was not incorporated until 1913.The town has changed names from Lewis Town in the 1700s and also locations, moving inland a few kilometres. Fox farming was one of the areas trades at one time and it has left its mark on the area in the form of wonderfully characterful homes throughout the area. Many feral foxes can be seen throughout the island. Alberton has a population of just over 1000 and there are just over 150 businesses.
Please note there is a 90 ft. buffer zone for oceanfront lots. All lots are government tested and and treed for privacy. There is also a 10 ft. walking path along Lot #6 for all property owners.
