The number of Wisconsin schools singled out for not meeting standards of the federal No Child Left Behind Act nearly doubled this year, but Kenosha’s presence remained unchanged.
Bradford High School (in a repeat appearance) remains the Kenosha Unified School District’s only school on the state’s Schools Identified For Improvement list, though two other schools took a step toward making the list by falling short of adequate progress in two key areas.
Ninety-two schools from 20 Wisconsin school districts, up from 49 schools last year, were on the list released Tuesday by the state Department of Public Instruction.
