Title

KARA Kawartha Ancestral Research Association Inc. Peterborough family history centre

Description

KARA began in 1996 as a not-for-profit organization focused upon the collecting, preserving and sharing of genealogical materials. From small seeds grow mighty trees and KARA has been steadily growing these past years. KARA owns and operates the Ancestral Research Centre, commonly referred to as the ARC, an in-house reference library for those interested in pursuing genealogical research. Membership in KARA brings free access to the Ancestral Research Centre, a copy of each Trees and Forebears booklet published during your membership year, and 2 free submissions per year of queries for inclusion in Trees and Forebears. For those researching from a distance, KARA is a terrific link to resources for the Kawartha region - Haliburton, Northumberland, Peterborough and Victoria counties.

Do drop by for a visit, your company would be most welcome. We'll put the coffee on and talk genealogy ideas and avenues of research.

The goal of KARA has always been to build and share resources for the purpose of genealogical research. We're working hard attaining the first objective...the second has been consistently met from day one. If you have material -printed family histories, books, pedigree charts, b/m/d newspaper clipping, vital stats copies, census data, and so on that you would be willing to donate or loan, please contact us. Your support is greatly appreciated.
