Description
Kalulu is a family business started in 2004. I have always had a keen interest in old photographs and family history (the website banner and the Occasions page icons are all made from family memorabilia and photos), and became interested in scrapbooking, when we inherited some scrapbook albums dating back more than fifty years. Then on a trip to the States my utterly scrapaholic friend took me to her favourite store and I was totally smitten. With my husband Julian’s technical know-how and more than 50 years retail experience between us we decided to set up Kalulu.com.
Kalulu is a Central African word meaning rabbit (or hare) and in many of the area’s folk tales and legends Kalulu the rabbit is as famous as Simba the lion. Given the warmth of the story telling tradition around Kalulu and how important story telling and journaling are to scrapbooking, it is a great name to give our business.
