Title

Judson at University Circle

Description

History

On January 9, 1906, women from area Baptist churches established the Baptist Home of Northern Ohio in downtown Cleveland. Thirty-three years later, the group moved to Cleveland Heights. The campus was expanded by the construction of the 10-story Jordan Gardner Tower apartments in 1973, and dedicated as Judson Park in 1974.

Ten years later, Judson's growth continued with the acquisition of the famed residential hotel, the Wade Park Manor, remodeled and renamed Judson Manor. These two campuses formed what is now Judson at University Circle. 1991 saw the opening of the Breuning Health Center, providing a home-like environment for both long-term care and short-term rehabilitation. In 1998, Judson transformed the historic Warren G. Bicknell mansion adjacent to Judson Park into seven independent living apartments, renaming the structure The Mansion Courts.
