Title
Judith Pella - Historical Fiction Author
Description
Judith began her voyage into the world of storytelling at a young age. As a child she loved to read and watch television and movies; she simply loved a good story and began to enjoy completing school writing assignments. She also adored history because to her all the dry facts translated into wonderful romantic stories. At age eleven she wrote her first epic, a Civil War spy story that may not have been any good, but reinforced her love of historical fiction. From that moment on, she had high hopes of someday seeing her name on a real book. It was a dream she would pursue even when it seemed very far off.
College, a short career in nursing, and then elementary school teaching sidetracked her for a while. The idea of writing for a living never really occurred to her. But God seemed to gently nudge her back to her first love—writing.
At first is was merely therapeutic, a release from the tensions of life. Then long-time friend Michael Phillips happened to take a look at some of her work. Phillips, who had already published several books, saw promise in what she'd written and suggested Pella collaborate with him on a Scottish novel he wanted to write but didn't have time to do alone.
