Rugs by Jess Thomas Designs are made exclusively of wool from New Zealand and Canada. The fleeces are spun and dyed in Quebec to meet our highest specifications. Wool is the preferred fiber for rugs - it is the most durable choice for the traffic of real life and will maintain its like-new luster, suppleness and vibrancy for generations to come. In addition, wool cleans the air that we breathe, is flame-retardant and is an all-natural renewable resource.
Very similar in construction to traditional hooked rugs, Jess Thomas rugs are constructed of low loop pile. Continuous wool yarn is looped through a strong woven 100% cotton backing. For added durability, the back is sealed with natural latex and protected with a sheet of heavyweight cotton canvas.
CARE: Bring it on! Live on your rug and have confidence in its durability. Jess Thomas rugs can be vacuumed regularly, spot cleaned with cleaners such as Wool Wash, and professionally dry cleaned. When vacuuming, the "beater brush" attachment is not recommended for any natural fiber carpet. Best is strong suction through a head such as would be suitable for a wood floor.
