- About the Friends of Jerusalem Mill
- The Friends of Jerusalem Mill, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is a local group of volunteers, organized in 1985, dedicated to the preservation of the Mill and Village. In the 1990's, they were successful in convincing the state of Maryland to preserve the original buildings which the state had purchased in 1961, including the Mill, Craft Shop, and Blacksmith Shop. As additional buildings are purchased by the state to add to the overall Village, the Friends are given the responsibility to manage those buildings, for example, to take care of the day-to-day operation of several rental apartments which continue the tradition of the Village being a residence.
