So, last night Ben and I took Sprocket to the Dog Spa for the first time. It’s not really as gay as it sounds. Its basically a pool for your dog to swim in. Its a long pool with a ramp on either end for your dog to get in at. On Friday nights they put a dock on the one end so you can teach your dog how to dive off the dock. There is a local group called Dock Dogs that holds competitions to see who’s dog can jump the farthest. Our trainer at PetSmart competes with one of her dogs and a few weeks ago we went to see her at PawsAbilities at the farm show complex. We really enjoyed it and decided to see if Sprocket would do it. He liked going down the ramps into the pool, but didn’t stray far from the ramp. He was having problems with swimming and was flailing his arms a lot. When it came to the dock, he wouldn’t jump in, but would kind of flop in after a lot of coaxing. Luckily I had our camera on me and I shot some videos. Here is one of him swimming towards us after “jumping” off the dock.
