- Born and raised on the Big Island of Hawai`i, Jeff graduated from Ka`u High School in 1980. Faced with a crossroad in life, Jeff entered the US Navy instead of college. What was initially intended to be a 4-year tour turned into a 20-year career that took Jeff to the far reaches of the globe. The world became his academia filled with unique cultural experiences and world events.
